KTM 390 Adventure: A Closer Look at the Upcoming Model”s Updates

KTM 390 Duke : KTM has launched its new 399cc-based 390 Duke in India. Apart from this, a new enduro-style motorcycle based on this platform has also been spotted during testing in India.

With the launch of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and Triumph Scrambler 400X.the BMW G 310 GS and KTM 390 Adventure will also be updated soon.

While the 2024 KTM 390 Adventure is also coming to the market. For the first time. the new 390 Adventure test mules have been spotted during testing in India.

This new bike has a new headlight design. which gets two projectors in a vertically stacked headlight assembly.

Design

In this model, the larger projector seen above is for low-beam and the smaller projector below is for high-beam. Both these headlights are likely to get LEDs inside these projectors.

There is a 4-part split LED DRL design surrounding the projector headlight setup. Above this is a long windscreen.Different from the current 390 Adventure, it also has a larger front nose.

The front gets fully adjustable USD telescopic WP APEX forks with long travel. While the rear has a mono-shock setup that will also get pre-load and rebound adjustment. The seat height is high and we expect it to get a larger fuel tank.

Hardware

Looking at the testing model seen in India, it suggests that the KTM and Bajaj duo may prepare different variants with different off-road capabilities.

This is being said because the model recently seen abroad featured 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels with thinner off-road tyres.

The 2024 KTM 390 Adventure spotted in India features smaller 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel sizes with thicker tyres. All this hardware is likely to be given in the new 390 Duke with slight changes to suit the ADV character.

Powertrain

The 2024 KTM 390 Adventure spotted in India will also get the same 399cc single-cylinder engine with liquid cooling and a 6-speed gearbox as the 390 Duke. This engine generates 45 bhp power and 40 Nm torque.

KTM will also offer some electronic riding assists along with the same under-belly exhaust setup. It will also get a TFT screen with connectivity.
