Mahindra XUV.e8 Electric SUV Arrives Soon: Design Patents Revealed

The steering wheel has four toggle switches that can be used to cycle between the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. The sides have aero wheel caps to improve air flow efficiency.

What does the design patent show?

This SUV has already been showcased in concept form and the homegrown manufacturer is already testing prototypes of the upcoming electric SUV. Recently, Mahindra has applied for a couple of design patents for the XUV.e8. Talking about the patent, its design elements are quite similar to the concept vehicle showcased a few years ago.

There is a new set of LED projector headlamps at the front with an inverted L-shape. There is also an LED lightbar, which stretches across the width of the vehicle. It also gets new bumpers, which no longer have a grille at the front, as there is no internal combustion engine in it.

Steering wheel patented too

Mahindra has also applied for a design patent for the steering wheel. It is rectangular in shape with a red stripe on top. The steering wheel has four toggle switches that can be used to cycle between the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. Other than that, it looks like Mahindra will use a similar design as Tata, where the logo on the steering wheel lights up instead of a physical logo.
